I enjoy making things, especially things others can enjoy, like food, gifts, etc.
When my daughter, Aurelia Grace Almeyda, was about 16, she started buying candles and wanted to learn to make them, along with other crafts. I taught her to make the fancy photo albums that I had learned to make in Relief Society. When she was working in the casino, she made and sold a lot of them.
In December of 2000, Aurelia was murdered. I had a candle she had given me that had burned with a hole down the middle, but I could not bear to get rid of it, and looking at it and thinking about her, I was inspired to start making candles to sell. (As of today, December 5, 2011, I still have that old candle…)
So, now I make handmade gifts like scented vegan soaps, natural bio-wax candles, and bath & body items made with the most natural ingredients I can get.
